Covidien, a leading global healthcare products company, and the National Association of Community Health Centers (NACHC) have established a partnership to help bring quality healthcare to the underserved in our communities. The cornerstone of the partnership is the Covidien NACHC Challenge Grant program. The purpose of these challenge grants is to assist health centers in small- to mid-level capital improvement projects.
Funds will be awarded to successful applicants and will be not less than $25,000 and not exceed $50,000, and requires a DOCUMENTED 1:1 match from private sources (up to three). A project may exceed $100,000; however the Covidien sponsored NACHC grant award will not exceed $50,000. Projects may include (but are not limited to):
- Redesign of a waiting room to improve patient flow, privacy and/or overall comfort
- Building addition or minor construction to add exam room space increasing the array of services
- Mobile unit upgrade or purchase
- Entrance enhancement for Americans with Disabilities Act compliance
NACHC anticipates making between 15-20 grants in 2012 under this challenge grant program to Federally Qualified Health Centers (FQHCs) and FQHC Look-A-Likes that are NACHC ORGANIZATIONAL MEMBERS ONLY.
