The Women's Technology Program at MIT is a 4-week summer residence program to introduce high school girls to electrical engineering and computer science. If you know a girl who is currently a high school junior who demonstrates math and science ability and an interest in finding out about EECS, please encourage her to visit our website for more information and for an application form. Our classes are taught in a supportive environment by a staff of women MIT PhD candidates and undergraduates The full-time academic program includes hands-on experiments and team-based projects in computer science, electrical engineering, and mathematics. No prior experience in computer programming, physics, or electrical engineering is expected, but applicants typically have strong academic records, especially in math and science.

Harvard is offering free tuition for students that have a family income below $40,000. If you are a mentor or have nieces and nephews who might be interested, please give them this information. If you know any one/family earning less than $40K with a brilliant child near ready for college, please pass this along. The prestigious university recently announced that from now on undergraduate students from low-income families can go to Harvard for free...no tuition and no student loans! Spanish-Language Men's Health Supplement Published

The California HealthCare Foundation (CHCF) and La Opinión, the nation's largest Spanish-language daily newspaper, have released "Ellos También Cuidan Su Salud," a free supplement with information on men's health issues, including heart disease, cancer, mental health, substance abuse, and sexually transmitted diseases.

Health Professions Education Foundation 2006 Scholarships and Loan Repayment Applications

For your information:

Health Professions Education Foundation has  the pleasure to announce the availability of their 2006 scholarship and loan  repayment applications. 

The Foundation  administers a number of scholarship and loan repayment programs for health  professional students and graduates. All program recipients are required to  provide direct patient care in a medically underserved area of California as  designated by the Office of Statewide Health Planning and Development. The  period of obligated professional service is one to two years (depending upon  program).

All programs require applicants to document their financial need. Additional  criteria that will be considered in the selection of recipients include the applicant’s  work experience, community background, career goals, length of commitment to  practice in a medically underserved area, community involvement, and prior  academic performance.

The postmark deadline for the programs is March 24, 2006 & September 11, 2006
