BOSTON -- Circumcision reduced the risk of acquiring herpes simplex-2 (HSV-2) by 24% in a randomized clinical trial in Africa, a researcher said here.
The procedure also reduced a range of genitorurinary complications in female partners of men circumcised for the study, according to Aaron Tobian, M.D., Ph.D., of Johns Hopkins University.
